HR – The Strategic Bridge-Builder

In this talk, we address one of the most common Achilles’ heel of HR partners. Namely, the question of how HR partners understand the company’s business strategy and model.

We’ll look at the relationship between whether the company is focusing on new or old products and markets, and from there we’ll provide insight into some different operational business strategies and business models.

We spice up the post with an insight into the IPA person profiles and based on this, we try to explain what types of people HR partners should recruit and how HR partners create other HR initiatives that are aligned with BOTH the company’s strategy and the individual employee. In other words, it’s about the intersection between the business strategy, HR initiatives and possibly the individual’s IPA personal profile.

Development goes through people – not strategy, plans and systems.

Henrik B. Sørensen is a former associate professor of organizational theory at the Department of Management at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University. He holds an MSc in Business Administration and a PhD from Aarhus School of Business. Throughout his career, he has worked with HR and strategic, managerial and organizational issues in both theory and practice. In addition, he has a strong focus on the organizations of the future and the megatrends, generational leadership and diversity as well as new digital technologies that companies must exist in.

Henrik is a well-known speaker and has worked with organizational and change processes in both small and medium-sized companies. Henrik therefore has a good insight into the processes that drive and develop small and medium-sized companies.
